The first job-change in his life
at aged 43.
Starting work.
I am enjoying every day,
starting work as a business person,
which had always been my dream.

Tell us what prompted you to join the company.

I inherited a ramen bar that had operated for generations, but since I was a child, my dream had been to become a business person. I had been dreaming about having fun at weekends with my colleagues. I inherited my family business and it was going well, but I felt my life would never change unless I made a decision there and then. I persuaded my parents and became a business person.

Tell us about your work.

I do “quenching,” a process to harden knives.

Tell us what you find exciting, fun and motivating about your job.

The company always expects me to do something new. I find it rewarding that my job is constantly changing and evolving. More than anything, I enjoy my life as a business person, which had been my dream for a long time. I am happy when I have fun talks with my teammates, or when we help each other for work.

Tell us about your future goal.

I have experienced many types of work since I joined. I would like to continue to take on many new challenges. I will do my best not to be overtaken by younger people. I would also like to be a good team coordinator.

Do you have any message to people who are considering joining the company?

For me, it was my first job change at 43, and I had no experience of the industry. Still, people at the company were very kind and taught me and let me go to study groups, and I eventually I became able to do my job. It is always a little stressful to jump into a new environment. But Ono Knife always gives you a chance if you are willing, and they also respect your autonomy. We welcome anyone who is motivated!
